LaTeX has been the preferred system for writing scientific and mathematical documents for many years, and today it is a key part of a data scientist's tools. This talk provides a brief history of LaTeX, an overview of the concepts, and live demos of some modern tools which have LaTeX integrated - from full document preparation systems, embedding in Python notebooks, to JavaScript libraries for use on the web. The aim of the talk - which requires no expertise - is to give you enough understanding of LaTex concepts that you can more easily use it in future projects if the need arises.
