It's another iteration of our monthly meetup. This month, we are looking forward to a long talk by Oli Larkin from iPlug2/Ableton and a short talk by Achillefs Sourlas from Axart Software. See talk details below.

As always, there will be time to network over drinks and pizza after the talk. Anyone interested in Audio development is welcome!

Please note: We have a new home at Ableton AG, Schönhauser Allee 6/7 (second courtyard - see pin). Attendance is strictly limited to people who have RSVP'd. You will receive further instructions on how to attend once RSVP'd.

If the event is full, please register for the waiting list in case a spot opens up.

Visualising Spatial Audio Using iPlug2, SwiftUI, and Metal Oli Larkin

One of Oli’s passions is Spatial Audio and in this talk he will introduce some of the techniques in his latest side project SpatialAudioKit. He will showcase a collection of new plug-ins that use his iPlug2 framework along with Apple’s latest graphics APIs to render beautiful visualisations of ambisonic signals on the GPU.

Oli Larkin is a software engineer at Ableton and a prolific contributor to open-source audio projects over the last 20 years. He has developed his own successful audio plug-in products, as well as working with other well-known brands such as Arturia, Focusrite and Roli. Oli maintains the liberally-licensed iPlug2 C++ audio plug-in framework which many other developers use to release their projects. In 2015 he was involved in creating WebAudioModules which allows audio plug-ins to run in the web browser via WebAssembly.

Integrating AI models into JUCE-based music plugins Achillefs Sourlas

In this short talk, I will present one of the ways that you can use to integrate AI models into JUCE-based music plugins. More specifically, I will look into the case of AutoBeat, a MIDI plugin developed with JUCE, that uses a Large Language Model to generate MIDI beats on the user's device. The main focus will be on sharing practical insights and a starting point (hopefully) without delving too deeply into technical complexities.

Achillefs is a musician and developer living in Berlin. In 2023, he founded Axart Software, a music software company specializing in developing MIDI plugins. Achillefs' interests include generative and algorithmic art, as well as new forms of interactions between humans and machines.
