A common tool used in Django development is django-extensions’ venerable shell_plus command. At Kraken Tech we combine shell_plus with Jupyter notebook to access Django objects inside IDEs like VS code and PyCharm. In this talk we will cover:
- Running Jupyter notebook in VS Code or PyCharm so .ipynb files are indexed just like any other python file
- Safely bringing into Jupyter notebook all the objects automatically imported by shell_plus
