17:45 – 18:00 - Intro and updates

18:00 - 19:00 - Liz Hardy - Using your existing knowledge, skills and experience to “make it” in the Tech World. Are you new to tech or have you started along the journey and are looking to make a success of working in this industry but aren’t sure how? Are you struggling to progress and want to know how to get further in your career? Whether you are starting your first job, you already have years of experience in other areas or you are already part way into your journey, it’s only natural to think that it will be difficult to thrive in the Data World! However, don’t let this put you off. What if I told you that you might just find you have more relevant skills and experience to progress in tech than you first thought? In this session, I will share my own experiences and how I have overcome many obstacles during my career so far where I have worked in a wide range of industries. Even if you are not new to tech but are keen to help others along their journey and learn from it, then this session is also for you. We will talk about the skills and tools we have at our disposal that you can leverage to help kick-start your new tech career!
