• 20:00 - 20:20 - Why you should learn Rust // Daniel Szöke This lightning talk explains why Python developers should learn Rust. The talk highlights Rust’s strong emphasis on type and memory safety, as well the language’s the unique concept of ownership. The talk discusses how Rust eliminates entire classes of runtime errors present in Python and other languages by enforcing these guarantees. After the talk, the audience will understand why they, as Python developers, should learn Rust, even if only to gain an understanding of Rust’s safety guarantees and how the Rust compiler enforces them.

Speaker's bio: Hello! My name is Daniel and I am a software engineer at Sentry. At Sentry, my responsibilities include maintaining the Python SDK and the Sentry CLI, which are written in Python and Rust, respectively. During this talk, I hope to share some of the insights I have gained as a developer working in both Python and Rust.

Speaker's bio: Jacek Filipczuk is a seasoned Lead Machine Learning engineer with 8 years of experience applying various AI tools in over 5 different startups. Jacek worked in different domains, with a focus on text data and NLP solutions. In the past 5 years he focused on kickstarting AI projects in startups which defined his role as a blend of Machine Learning Engineer and business strategist, bridging the gap between company objectives and AI solutions. Currently Jacek is working at Walking on Earth leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to help users with stress management.
