Group Manager for Artificial Intelligence Policy Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

Sophia is leading the Information Commissioner’s Office’s AI policy team, working with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams across the UK data protection authority. Her portfolio covers areas such as ICO’s AI strategy, policy on emerging issues such as generative AI and cross-regulatory coordination. She is the ICO sponsor at the AI workstream of the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum (DRCF) and has represented the ICO at a variety of fora such as the Global Privacy Assembly's AI Working Group, the BSI AI Committee, and more. She was previously a fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) and a journalist.
