Peter O’Connor is the Senior Director of Engineering at Stack Overflow, where he oversees the engineering team responsible for both the development of Stack Overflow’s enterprise products and the platform engineering team. Prior to his tenure at Stack Overflow, he spent nearly 18 years working in education, first as a high school teacher of AP Chemistry and AP Computer Science, then a professor of computer science and chemistry at Hagerstown Community College and Hood College. He later moved into a software engineering roles in the Maryland public school system and now at Stack Overflow. Throughout his years he was constantly doing consultant and engineering work for private firms and as needed local government contractor. He holds a BA in Chemistry and a MS in Computer Science from Hood College.
