Marco Ryan is a recognised authority on artificial intelligence, cyber risk, and digital leadership. With over 20 years’ experience leading AI, data, and digital strategy at global firms, he’s held C-suite roles at BP, Wärtsilä, and Thomas Cook, building high-performing, diverse teams that deliver commercial impact. His leadership foundations were shaped by thirteen years in the British Army.

Today, Ryan advises multinational executive teams on AI and cyber strategy and coaches FTSE 100 board directors. He is Cyber Leader in Residence and visiting professor at Lancaster University Management School and holds a GCHQ-certified NED qualification.

Ryan is the author of several titles for senior leaders, including the bestseller Rewire or Retire, The Cybersecurity Blueprint, and the 2024 leadership series: 101 Cyber Answers for Leaders, 51 Essential Cyber Terms Explained for Leaders, and 51 AI Terms Explained for Leaders. His TEDx talk, How to Change the Wings of an Aircraft in Flight, highlights his ability to explain complex digital change in practical terms.
