Tanner Briggs is a Risk Architect in Microsoft Engineering and the Responsible AI Lead for the Growth & Experience division, where he reviews AI projects for risk and ensures alignment with Microsoft’s Responsible AI principles. He has led the creation of the Copilot Risk Assessment Toolkit, Unified Compliance System specification, and the Regulated Industry Minimum Bar (RIMB), helping Microsoft meet complex regulatory expectations. Tanner has also co-authored transparency notes, advanced prompt defense strategies, and contributed to the Copilot Control System. His work bridges engineering, compliance, and customer trust, translating emerging risks into practical mitigations that enable safe, responsible innovation.
