Previously, he was the Product Manager for the Machine Learning Infrastructure team at Airbnb and a founding team member of Azure Cosmos DB, Microsoft Azure's distributed NoSQL database. You come up with a great idea! Maybe the model learns better if trained on the shortest examples first. So, you order the examples, feed them to the model, evaluate it, and find... the performance got worse! Is the idea bad? Or, did you just need to tune the learning rate?
