Title & Speakers Event

Join us for a Amazon Q Meetup at the AWS NYC office in Bryant Park, on May 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM EST and see how generative AI tools can help make your life easier and help build. This event is part 4 of a series of 4, however the content for each of the events is designed to be standalone. You do not need to attend all 4 events and can attend any one event individually or in parts.

Talk: Build AI Powered Enterprise Applications with Amazon Q Business Amazon Q Business is your enterprise expert - it's a secure assistant that enables users to answer questions quickly and accurately with natural language interactions. You can easily chat, generate content, and discover new insights, with everything uniquely informed by your particular systems and data. In this session, we will show you how to get started with Amazon Q Business. We will explore a few of the 40 data source connectors for Amazon Q Business and show how you can quickly build Generative AI powered chat applications for your business.

Speakers:

  • Perry Beaumont Perry is a Senior Product Manager with AWS, and previously served as the Chief Data Scientist for a global P&C firm. Perry has a doctorate in economics, he is an AWS Educate and CloudWhisperer Ambassador, and he occasionally lectures on Generative AI topics at the Data Science Institute of Columbia University and at Yale University. He is also the author of four books on data science applications in business.
  • Udaya Jaladi Udaya is a Solutions Architect at AWS working with FinTech ISV customers. He has 16+ years of experience in designing and building applications for Sales, Services, Financial, HR, and Payroll organizations. Udaya works closely with customers, providing strategic guidance to build well-architected business applications on AWS. Additionally, he focuses on GenAI and Cloud Governance areas.

In his free time, Shawn spends time with his wife and two children, and enjoys photography and woodworking.
  • Kawsar Kamal Kawsar is a senior solutions architect at AWS in the ISV services sector. Kawsar has been in the infrastructure automation and security space for 15+ years. During his career, he has focused on cloud migration, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOps transformation projects across various industries. In his free time, Kawsar enjoys running and hiking.

Talk: Amazon Q Developer: your AWS Expert in your IDE This session will show you how you can use Amazon Q Developer to transform the way you build, optimize, and create applications and workloads on AWS. We’ll talk about prompt engineering best-practices, and how you can use Q to explain existing code and concepts, to refactor, optimize and fix code. We’ll show examples how we can use Q Chat and inline prompts using CodeWhisperer to generate business logic code in Python and infrastructure as Code in AWS CDK.

  • Iris Kraja Iris is a Cloud Application Architect at AWS Professional Services based in New York City. She is passionate about helping customers design and build modern AWS cloud native solutions, with a keen interest in serverless technology, event-driven architectures and DevOps. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and spending as much time as possible in nature.
  • Jin Tan Ruan Jin is a AI/ML and Generative AI Prototyping Developer on the AWS Industries Prototyping and Customer Engineering (PACE) team, specializing in NLP and generative AI. He has a background in software development and holds nine AWS certifications. Jin supports AWS's largest industry customers across five different sectors: Automotive, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Energy, Manufacturing, and Media and Entertainment. He assists these customers in realizing their AI/ML and generative AI ambitions using the AWS platform. Jin earned a master's degree in Computer Science & Software Engineering from the University of Syracuse. Outside of work, he enjoys playing video games and delving into the exciting world of horror movies.

  • Rajakumar Sampathkumar Rajakumar Sampathkumar is a Principal Technical Account Manager at AWS, providing customer guidance on business-technology alignment and supporting the reinvention of their cloud operation models and processes. He is passionate about data analytics, machine learning and generative AI. Raj is also a ML specialist and works with AWS customers to design, deploy, and manage their AWS workloads and architectures.
  • Al Destefano Al Destefano is a Cloud Governance Specialist at AWS, providing guidance to customers on cloud operations, governance and migrations to the cloud. Al works with customers to setup their cloud environment, ensure oversight of critical resources and implement effective guardrails to mitigate risk. Al is passionate about Generative/Responsible AI, machine learning and expediting the customer journey of AWS service adoption.
