Why Data as an Asset Is Relevant for Finance and Banking Tangible Value: Financial institutions increasingly recognize data (e.g., transactional data, KYC info, credit history) as a critical asset that can unlock enhanced decision-making, risk management, and client services. New Financial Instruments: Tokenizing data or using data-based assets can drive novel financing models (e.g., data-backed lending, insurance, or investment products), opening fresh opportunities for banks and credit unions.
