TAMING UNSTRUCTURED DATA WITH AI Tomáš Janotík, Cloud Data Architect at EMARK

How do you get AI to see and collect data from images? You are asking the right person because Tomas has recently got it to do just that.

One of Tomas’s recent projects involved extracting data from supermarket images, such as products on shelves, brands, and price tags. Here, dbt was instrumental in processing the unstructured data effectively in the data warehouse.

The set-up included a directory table/stage in Snowflake, where images were uploaded, and an incremental dbt model was added on top of that to call an LLM function to extract the data from newly added files to a table. This talk will showcase the key dbt features that make an AI-powered pipeline like this more effective. We will focus on incremental models, testing, jobs scheduling, and more.

MIGRATING A DBT PROJECT BETWEEN CLOUD DATASTORES Tomas Sirny, Senior Data Architect at Slido
