1️⃣ “What on Earth is dbt?” Radek Tomsej, Head of Data Engineering, Alma Career

Too many people in the data world are still wondering what on Earth dbt is and why everyone else is talking about it. Radek is lifting the curtain around dbt’s seemingly magical capabilities to transform a humble data analyst into a fully fledged data developer (or an analyst that’s no longer that humble). Radek’s presentation is sprinkled with a liberal amount of jokes at the expense of our beloved SQL, so keep that in mind if you are particularly partial to it.

3️⃣ “How dbt helps you sleep at night” Tomas Janotik, Senior Analytics Engineer, Infinite Lambda Testing and monitoring data quality are two of the greatest challenges in data modelling. dbt helps you identify and address issues as early as possible, giving millions of modellers peace of mind.

In his talk, Tomas is going to show you:

• How data quality testing works in dbt;
• What types of tests are available in dbt and how to implement them;
• How testing can build data trust and reliability within your organisation;

🌟 Moderator Viktoria Karolova (Viki), Chief of Staff to CTO or that-one-non-engineer-in-engineering as she prefers to say Viki completed her graduate studies in the UK and went on to spend a year with an e-commerce start up in Thailand, which sparked her interest in tech and the startup world. Currently, she is a Chief of Staff to CTO at Slido, where she is focusing on enabling engineering teams by removing inefficiencies, facilitating discussion and bringing a lot of energy.
