Introduction to Reproducible Publications with Quarto
2024-01-16 · 17:00
Quarto is a new open-source scientific and technical publishing system that Posit developed, extending the capabilities of its predecessor R Markdown. It is a powerful tool that may be used in both RStudio and Jupyter Notebooks for combining narrative text with code for reports, academic articles, books, web pages, and more. To participate follow the link that will appear when you RSVP, click on the link and register to receive the event zoom link by email. This workshop is a short version of the carpentry-style “Introduction to Reproducible Publications with RStudio” including lecture and demos alternating with hands-on exercises, so by the end of the workshop, attendees will have “authored” a reproducible paper of their own with the data and narrative provided. Specifically, we will cover an introduction to Quarto documents, writing and styling narrative text, and integrating R code in one seamless, publication-ready document. For the best experience, it is suggested that attendees have a basic understanding of the RStudio environment before attending the workshop.
