Title & Speakers Event

Details Our London AI DevOps Society meetup 2025 has arrived! We are delighted to partner with Microsoft on this exciting meetup, with two exciting speakers lined up.

Format of the meetup event will be as follows:

6pm – 6:30pm - Networking on arrival coupled with food and soft drinks provided by ReVybe IT and Microsoft.

6:30pm - 7:45pm - 2X 25 minute speakers lined up with 10-15 minute break in-between

7:45pm onwards - Networking (carries on afterwards for anybody who wants to have a few drinks or just socialise at The Union, Paddington)

#1 Matteo Emili, Director of Software Engineering @ Avanade UK & Ireland

Matteo Emili is a Director of Software Engineering at Avanade UK and Ireland, leading the talent in Software Engineering and always looking at new ways of applying technology to solve business problems. He is a passionate Agile advocate and a technologist at heart, a Cloud Architect who is always driven by using technology as a vehicle for change and continuous improvement.

A Microsoft MVP since 2010 (currently in the Azure DevOps and GitHub category), he enjoys sharing back as much as he can with the worldwide technical communities – especially within Agile and DevOps. He has founded several User Groups around Europe and he is a regular speaker at meetups and conferences.

Title: Is AI going to change the role of a Developer?

GenAI here, Copilot there… AI is a once in a lifetime opportunity to significantly change the way people operate, however nobody is talking about how AI is changing the role of a developer today, and the impact in the future. Let’s shed some light on the role of a developer in an AI-assisted world and see how to make the most of the opportunity.

#2 Liam Hampton, Senior Cloud Advocate @ Microsoft Liam is a Senior Cloud Advocate and Software Engineer at Microsoft working on Developer Tools. He is passionate about Security, DevOps, automation and Go. He loves sharing his knowledge and creating simple and concise content for others to learn from. When he is not writing code in the office, he is writing it on a beach as he spends a lot of his time traveling around the globe, building communities and meeting new people.

Title: Deploying AI Agents with the Azure Developer CLI (azd) In this session you will learn about the evolution of AI Agents. Liam will take you through what they are, how they are used and how to deploy them using the Azure Developer CLI. The azd CLI is an open source deployment tool that utilises ready made templates in Bicep and Terraform to make your journey to the cloud simple and efficient. This event is an open discussion around creating a collaborative and inclusive future in technology. We have a brilliant panel of 4 guests, who are all in leadership roles, and will be sharing their experiences.

This event is for everyone to come together and discuss allyship, inclusivity, and how we should treat each other in the wonderful world of technology.

There is a particular focus around DevOps and AI.

Magdalene Amegashitsi - Data and AI Senior Manager @ Avanade

Magda is a multi-award winner and senior leader in Tech, helping Companies realise their Data ad AI ambitions by developing Strategies and driving impactful and complex digital and data transformations. She is an advocate for Women looking to build a career in Tech and values leadership greatly. Magda is a co-chair for the Women’s Employee Network across Avanade Europe and the Middle East. Furthermore, Magda is the Founder of the Global Queens Community, a Charity which aims to bridge the gap for the underrepresented and inspire women to discover the next best version of themselves.

#2 - Valentina Vacca - Director of Technology

Valentina held senior leadership positions at several renowned organizations, including, 8x8, Currencycloud, Inmarsat, and Ladbrokes Coral. Her expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and enterprise architecture, combined with a deep understanding of companies' needs has made her a very effective technology leader

Beyond the technical acumen, Valentina has 10+years of experience in building and leading high-performing teams. She has a proven track record in coaching and developing talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and preparing the next generation of technology leaders.

#3 - Samer Naqvi - Principal Consultant @ GlobalLogic

Samer is an international speaker with over 16 years of comprehensive experience as a Test Architect, specializing in refining QA practices and empowering teams to achieve excellence through cutting-edge tools and methodologies. Beyond Samer's professional pursuits, she is deeply passionate about advocating for Women in Tech. Through speaking engagements at colleges, organizations, and prominent conferences, she actively raises awareness and motivates the next generation of young women to embrace and excel in the dynamic field of technology.
