Building GenAI Applications with Microsoft for Startups
The DORA Explorer 2024-03-12 · 17:30

IMPORTANT: You can only register for this event on Eventbrite, here: https://Mar2024LNETM.eventbrite.co.uk/

DORA is a disarmingly cute name for a major piece of legislation formally called the Digital Operational Resilience Act, which goes into effect in the EU in January 2025.

For the March LNETM we’ve teamed up with Own (formerly OwnBackup) and Orrick to get to grips with what DORA truly means for an enterprise, how to get to grips with the challenges it brings and how to streamline compliance across the enterprise, particularly for data and cloud.

DORA's primary objectives are to make financial systems more resilient against cyber threats and information communication technology (ICT) disruptions and, despite being EU legislation, is far-reaching in its impact across FS/Tech globally. It has been referred to as the GDPR of the financial sector due to stronger requirements and stricter enforcement.

The ultimate responsibility for non-compliance with DORA is placed firmly on the financial institutions and their executives, with significant penalties for not achieving the required levels of comprehensive documentary evidence relating to compliance.

We have brought together several industry-leading DORA experts for our discussion, including:

  • Eoghan Casey (VP Cybersecurity Strategy and Product Development at Own (formerly OwnBackup))
  • Kelly Hagedorn (Cyber & Privacy Partner at Orrick)
  • Miranda Le Sage (Group Head of Operational Resilience at London Stock Exchange Group)
  • Vanessa Tufnell (Cybersecurity Advisor at PWC)

This panel will be moderated by Matthew O’Neill host of the “Don’t Break the Bank” podcast, who will also provide the positioning talk. Sincere thanks to London Stock Exchange Group for hosting the LNETM and to all our annual sponsors for 2024.
