Join fellow Airflow enthusiasts and leaders at Salisbury House for an evening of engaging talks, great food and drinks, and exclusive swag!

We'll start you off with a deep dive into the Airflow 2026 survey results, and finish off with a community member presentation on the Apache TinkerPop provider.

PRESENTATIONS

Talk #1: The State of Apache Airflow® 2026

Apache Airflow® continues to thrive as the world’s leading open-source data orchestration platform, with 30M downloads per month and over 3k contributors. 2025 marked a major milestone with the release of Airflow 3, which introduced DAG versioning, enhanced security and task isolation, assets, and more. These changes have reshaped how data teams build, operate, and govern their pipelines.

In this session, our speaker will share insights from the State of Airflow 2026 report, including:

  • Latest trends in how teams are using Airflow today
  • What’s next for the project and ecosystem
  • A discussion of emerging best practices and evolving use cases

Join us to hear directly from a leader in the community and discover how to get the most out of Airflow in the year ahead.

Talk #2: Building the Apache TinkerPop Provider for Airflow

Graph databases are powering everything from recommendation engines to fraud detection, but integrating graph operations into modern data pipelines has often required custom code and workarounds. Earlier this year, Ahmad built a new Apache TinkerPop provider for Airflow, making it easier than ever to orchestrate Gremlin queries, manage graph workloads, and connect Airflow to TinkerPop-enabled systems. In this session, you’ll learn:

  • What the TinkerPop provider does and why it matters for graph-based workloads
  • How to run Gremlin queries and manage graph jobs directly within Airflow
  • Real examples from the development process, including design decisions and lessons learned
  • How this provider opens the door for new use cases in graph analytics and data engineering

Join us to explore how Airflow and TinkerPop can work together to streamline graph workflows and unlock new patterns in modern data pipelines.

AGENDA

  • 5:30-6 PM: Arrivals, networking, food & drinks
  • 6-7PM: Presentations
  • 7-8PM: Networking

#10 Meetup Staff42 @ Qonto 2026-01-21 · 17:30

Stripe London developer meetup - January 2026 (In Person)

A new year a new meetup ! And this time we go south, for the second time we go the friendly folks at ASML. This meetup will all about "How to scale without limits". How do you bring the cloud like mindset to on prem and hybrid workloads and how do you bridge the gap between them, how can you make sure that your company has the capability to scale without limits ?

You can also visit the experience center of ASML which will be open just for us!

The program will go as this:

  • 17:00-18:00 Walk-in
  • 18:00-18:05 Welcome
  • 18:05-18:50 1st Talk: Sjuul Jannsen and Thomas Reichel (ASML) Infrastructure Orginization that scales
  • 18:50-19:30 Pizzas
  • 19:30-20:15 2nd Talk: Laura Dragan (Dell): Architect for change and failure, because both are guaranteed
  • 20:15 - 21:30 Networking & drinks and ASML Experience center tour
  • 21:30 End

1st Talk: Title: Infrastructure Organization that scales

Infrastructure Organization that scales: what paradigms (Infrastructure as Code, Platform Engineering, API first) and what mindset do you need for your infrastrucutre to scale ? What makes the AWS, Google, the hyper scaler seem to scale their infrastructure without friction whilst many companies seem to struggle on this and revert to a more human centric approach. What are the stragegies at play and what are the benefits of both and what's a way forward.

Speaker: Sjuul Jannsen is a developer & team architect that is not afraid for a challenge, in face of struggle Sjuul Jannsen tries to ask why are we doing this and how can we improve the organisation ? Together with Thomas Reichel who is a Enterprise Architect they are on a mission to change how ASML thinks about infrastructure.

2nd Talk: Title: Architect for change and failure, because both are guaranteed

Description: When we design modern platforms, escpecially in envorioments as complex at ASML, we cannot assume stability or permanence. New workloads appear. Teams scale. Hardware evolves. Vendors shift direction. And things break sometime at the worst possible moment. How do you design a system that copes with this from the get go ?

Speaker: Laura Dragen is a cloud architect at Dell, she worked at Google before joing Dell where she was a part of their AI divsion before the AI boom.

Photography/Video consent: We will be taking photos and videos during the event and will use these photos and videos for social media and promotional materials. By coming to the meet-up, you give us your consent to take photos and videos of you.

Code of Conduct: All members are required to agree with the Berlin Code of Conduct.

Stay in touch: Please get in touch on the CNCF #netherlands slack channel for any questions (we're also looking for co-organizers, especially in other cities). Please also don't forget to join the official CNCF community here

Directions: Go to reception of building 7! Don't forget to bring identification (id-card, passport, driving license) as you will be checked upon entry of ASML premise.

Parking: Parking is available on site on P1 parking. Please send us the plate in advance.

Cloud Native @ASML: How to scale without limits

New Year, New GolangNYC

We're excited to host the first 2026 NYC PostgreSQL User Group Meetup on January 14, 2026!

Agenda: 6p - 6:30p: Food & Networking 6:30p - 7:30p: Talk - Breaking Up with Massive Tables via Partitioning

Location: DataDog office, New York Times Bldg, 620 8th Ave, New York, NY 10018

Talk: Breaking Up with Massive Tables via Partitioning

Similar to memory configurations and Active-Active, when you find yourself Googling "How to partition a Postgres table", you're usually in a tight spot. However, although real-life use cases for partitioning typically start with a large, production table where uptime is critical, most documentation and blogs only cover setting up new partitioned tables -- ignoring the delicate work necessary to migrate safely with minimal downtime. This talk actionably addresses that knowledge gap: covering multiple ways to partition large, production tables. This talk will discuss:

  • Basic Postgres partitioning internals
  • Choosing between partitioning strategies (with examples)
  • Rules of thumb, and when NOT to partition
  • Methods of migrating a live, production table to a partitioned table (with examples and demo code)
  • Partitioning observability and maintenance

Speaker: Chelsea Dole

Chelsea Dole is a Database Engineer at a hedge fund with expertise in Postgres and database platform building. Before her current role, she worked in the startup world (most recently at Brex).

She is an active speaker in the Postgres community and has delivered talks across the US, Europe, and Asia. Chelsea also serves as an organizer for PostgresConf NYC.

She got her start as a DBA being “thrown in the deep end”, and seeks to present practical internals talks which speak to engineers in the grey area between “infra engineer” and “database person”.

Breaking Up with Massive Tables via Partitioning

For our January meetup, we're back at the fabulous Accurx offices. We are finalising our full speaker lineup and the agenda will be:

  • 6:30pm - arrive, drinks, networking
  • 7:00pm - Welcome & Housekeeping
  • 7:15pm - Talk 1: Measuring your Platform Engineering impact

Platform Engineering is gaining traction, but its value is often lost in translation. To engineering teams, it means golden paths and reusable pipelines. But how do you make its impact resonate with a CEO, a Head of Product, or even Security and Change Management? In this talk, Christopher will explore how the same platform capabilities, such as environments as a service and Continuous Delivery pipelines, can move the needle for different types of stakeholders. The key is choosing the right metric and telling the right story. He will share real examples from working with platform teams at large enterprises, showing how he's helped:

  • Explain platform engineering in the language of different stakeholders
  • Define outcome-based KPIs that align with each sponsor’s priorities
  • Track those metrics over time to demonstrate value and build accountability

He will walk through:

  • Strategic metrics such as faster market entry and fewer launch failures
  • Delivery metrics such as lead time and deployment frequency
  • Enabling metrics such as pipeline reliability and environment readiness
  • Governance metrics such as change success rates, policy coverage, and audit time

Speaker: Christopher Bater, CTO @ Core Engineering Consulting Group Over 20 years Christopher has spent time in most areas of software delivery, product development, JVM library development (concurrency/distributed systems), Infrastructure engineering, architecture & system design and most recently Platform Engineering. He has a passion for speed and stability, focusing on what we need to do next to speed up the software delivery lifecycle. Over the years he’s contributed to many open source projects including Akka & Kubernetes.

  • 7.45pm - food, more drinks & networking
  • 8.00pm - Talk 2: "TBC"

Speaker: Lewis Denham-Parry, Staff Solutions Engineer @ Edera Lewis Denham-Parry orchestrates containers by day and puts them through rigorous security testing by night. As Staff Solutions Engineer at Edera, he leverages his diverse background to deliver the robust security and isolation that modern systems demand. A dynamic speaker at KubeCon, OSS, SANS, and BSides, Lewis enthusiastically shares his expertise with the global tech community, though his heart remains in the Welsh tech scene. You can easily find him online, just search for his surname.

  • 8.30pm onwards - drinks and networking.

So, please come and join us, we look forward to seeing you there. The LOPUG team.

  • Food and drinks provided
  • Good time will be had by all

ARM Migration Made Practical by Nati Cohen

ARM processors are shaking up the cloud by delivering faster performance, lower costs, and greener computing. But with all these benefits, why do so many teams still hesitate to make the leap? This session makes ARM migration practical: we’ll clarify the architecture, identify easy-to-migrate workloads, and share proven steps for evaluation and transition. Learn why real-world testing matters, discover essential tools, and build multi-arch containers without increasing CI time. Whether you’re starting a new project or updating legacy apps, get actionable insights for a smooth, successful migration.

Nati is a Solutions Architect with AWS. He delights in helping customers simplify complex systems, teaching them about the inner workings of cloud services and debugging annoying technical oddities. When he is not at his computer he is soldering electronic kits, tinkering with smaller computers and drumming on a Taiko.
