Banking & Finance: Govt Budget On A Blockchain Event by Government Blockchain Association, National DigiFoundry and Digital Transformers

Join the event at https://www.linkedin.com/events/bankingandfinancialservices-put7297603958456373249/theater/

In 2018, the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) Budget Accountability & Transparency Working Group was established with a goal of putting government budgets on blockchain, an idea before its time.

Now with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. advocating for blockchain-based government budgets the idea has gained momentum. As the new Secretary of the U.S. Health & Human Services Administration, the HHS budget is a perfect case study. All government budgets will benefit from being put on a blockchain?

Join the GBA and the National DigiFoundry (NDF) as they present the March episode of The Emerging Gov Tech Livestream, March 11, where our hosts Kevin L. Jackson and Gerard Dache welcome speakers Paul F. Dowding, Head of Design for L4S Corp. Inc. and Amelia Gardner, Commissioner, Utah County, UT, discuss putting government budgets on a blockchain.

Amelia Gardner, Commissioner, Utah County, UT

One of three county commissioners serving as both the legislative and executive branches of the Utah County Government. We set the budget and policy for the county of 680,000 residents. Utah county is the second largest county in Utah and the fastest growing. We are the home of Silicon Slopes, a budding tech sector, two major universities and one of the largest agricultural exporters in Utah. • Transformational Leader - Transforms teams through vision, collaboration, and a focus on results. • Blockchain and Technology advocate - leading government innovation through practical implementation of technology and blockchain. • Problem Solver – Ability to think creatively and find solutions to complex problems. • Popular Event and Keynote Speaker - Skilled and dynamic speaker, presenter, and moderator. • Operational Efficiency Expert – Learns procedures, processes, products and markets very quickly and proficiently; finds ways to optimize efficiency and maximize performance.

This one-hour livestream will be followed by a half-hour open forum for Q & A. The event will be webcast at https://www.linkedin.com/events/bankingandfinancialservices-put7297603958456373249/theater/ Link: https://www.youtube.com/@GBAorg/streams

Many questions need to be answered before he could make that decision. Most importantly, would the blockchain of choice actually DO WHAT IT PROMISES? To allay some of these unknowns, GBA is starting by putting a County HHS budget on a blockchain, and by explaining that not all blockchain solutions are equal. They need to be properly assessed by a 3rd party standard.

If you are interested in learning how a blockchain solution can be ready for government consideration, or if you are curious about the likelihood that our US Federal Budget, (and other US government projects) could benefit from blockchain, be sure to join us on March 11 as we discuss Putting Government Budgets on a Blockchain.

It's no longer theory. Blockchain applications are now being deployed in government acquisitions, whether they are ready or not.

This livestream is free and open to the public. https://gbaglobal.org/events/emerging-govtech-livestream-series/?gde=2025-03-11
