It is time for the March Meetup! 2025 started with a bang, and we've had a most difficult time lining up a speaker. But - the good thing is that we finally managed to corner Nicky, and he will give us insight into a day of an accidental Fabric administrator!

Do you know your way around Power BI Desktop, but don't know what happens beyond it, or what has to be managed in the Service?

Do you have the privilege, as an IT Admin or Global Administrator, to "also take care of Fabric"? Did you just receive the responsibility for some, or even all, Fabric Administrator tasks? And what about all the (new) Fabric workloads? Do you also not know what the Power Platform (management) truly encompasses?

If you answer Yes to any of the questions above, this session is for you! And did you know a Fabric Premium Capacity is not a switch you turn on and just walk away from. It's like heating tomato soup in the microwave: if you don't pay attention, it becomes a mess very quickly. :-)

In this session, we will take a look at tasks and components that can (or should!) be part of a Fabric Admin's daily routine. - The changed role of the Fabric Admin - Tenant settings - Handling (My) Workspace(s) - Capacity and Admin Monitoring - Power Platform Admin Center

I will also show how you can extend the Admin Monitoring semantic model to get a grip on the usage of your Pro licenses.

When you start applying the tips and tricks of this session, you will get a grip on your Fabric tenant and have happier users!

This is an online event so we'll start at 1900 and run to about 2030-2045 depending on the number of questions. See you in a week!

Abstract:

Power BI Data storytelling, the latest innovations from Power BI to enable you, to scale your data, insights and reports to where people are collaborating and making decisions using PowerPoint.

In this session you will learn how to bring fully interactive and up-to-date data into your presentations to empower discussions and decisions making with data. We will go over the newest capabilities added to Power BI Storytelling, and will discuss deployment strategies using Office store and admin center.
