In this session, we’ll start with the basics of Power BI Embedded, showing you how to take your reports beyond the workspace and into custom apps. Then, we’ll dive into a live demo where we’ll tweak some code in a real embedded solution—always a thrill, because who knows if it’ll actually work? 😅 Whether you’re a regular Power BI user or just curious, you’ll leave knowing why Embedded is the cooler, more adventurous sibling of Power BI. Optimizing and Automating Microsoft Fabric and Power BI with Semantic Link/LabsDavid Mitchell (Microsoft) This talk was originally presented by David's Microsoft colleague Michael Kovalsky earlier this year FabCon. Semantic Link and Semantic Link Labs have become essential tools for Power BI developers and admins using Microsoft Fabric to simplify many previously technically-challenging tasks. This session will demonstrate how to leverage Semantic Link and its open-source extension, Semantic Link Labs, and integrate them into your workflows. By the end of this session, attendees will be equipped with practical tools to optimise their semantic models and reports as well as automate tasks previously thought impossible. No prior experience with Python or Semantic Link is required. |

Optimizing and automating Microsoft Fabric scenarios with Semantic Link Labs This session will focus on demonstrating key features of Semantic Link Labs, a python library for Microsoft Fabric notebooks. Semantic Link Labs can significantly boost productivity and automation processes for your company, letting humans focus on higher-level tasks which truly require a human while machines do the rest. https://github.com/microsoft/semantic-link-labs Knowledge of python is not required. Michael Kovalsky is a Principal Program Manager on the Fabric CAT team at Microsoft where he advises enterprise customers with regard to semantic modeling, DAX and performance optimization, Dev Ops automation processes and Semantic Link. He is the primary author of the Semantic Link Labs library for Fabric notebooks and various other tools built for the Power BI and Fabric community including the Report Analyzer and the best practice rules for Tabular Editor’s Best Practice Analyzer. https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelkovalsky/ https://www.elegantbi.com https://github.com/m-kovalsky https://github.com/microsoft/semantic-link-labs |
