😎 Summer \~picnic\~ pub edition

Update: Since there’s a surprise thunderstorm, we’re moving to the City of Quebec Pub. Meet us at Marble Arch station or the pub.

This August we’re going to join the Feminist AI meetup for a picnic in the park (or pub if the weather fails us).

We’ll bring a few picnic mats, drinks, and snacks to the park, but please do bring your own picnicking supplies too.

The Feminist AI meetup will be doing some Zine making (https://feministai.party/kits/zines) which we can join in with.

Want to share your Django or Python knowledge? We’d love to feature your talk in a future meetup—fill in our speaker form with your proposal, and we’ll get back to you.

Agenda • 6:30 pm - Meet at Marble Arch tube station • 6:45 pm - Move to the \~picnic location\~ pub. We’ll post an update in a comment here so late arrivals can join us. We're aiming to find somewhere within a short walk of some toilets (open til 21:00).

A picnic for family, friends, and fellow Py-thusiasts. In cooperation with Helsinki Python and DataTribe meetups. The event is open to everyone! Grab your favourite yard games, a blanket, some snacks, and drinks. Save some pocket money for delicious ice cream from nearby kiosks. Don't forget sunscreen! The event will take place in the Meripuisto park sections between the Kompassintori and the nearby kids playground. WEATHER NOTICE If it seems the weather will be unfavorable for outside activities then the event will be postponed or cancelled. An email with the final decision will be sent a day before the event.

The July meeting for the Ohio North Database Training user group will be an in-person, off-site, cookout on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025 from 6pm-8pm at the Creekside Reserved Shelter in Big Creek Reservation.

We will be providing the necessities for a proper cookout, but everyone is welcome to contribute sides, desserts, drinks, etc. if desired.

This is an in-person event only and we will not have a featured presentation but along with your appetite, you're welcome to bring along stories of triumph and/or horror, general questions, crazy ideas for a presentation, requests for future topics in our group, let us know your SQL Saturday feedback, the list goes on. This is an opportunity to have open discussions in a spacious format.

About This picnic is a socializing event for all of you to meet with other like-minded FLINTA* people working in tech. If you are new to the industry or have many years under your belt, come by and enjoy a nice after work time, making use of the long June evenings.

⚠️ In case of really bad weather, we might cancel the event. So please double check on meetup in case the forecast isn't looking great.

Empowered in Tech is a community that tries to empower people in the technical industry. Usually, our events have a specific agenda (talks, workshops, etc.), but this one is a great chance to come and connect in a more casual setting and enjoy snacks together. Please do bring some food and drinks to your liking and a blanket if you can. We will provide some simple snacks and blankets.

Details The June meeting for the Ohio North Database Training user group will be on August 1st, 2023, at an off-site location. This meeting is in-person only as there is currently no mainstream method for transmitting fresh food electronically.
