1. Glen Holmes\, VP of Product @ Qase: The Ethical Product: Balancing Innovation, Quality and Integrity

In technology, we often focus on what we can build (think features), and how we build (think faster releases, smarter automation, seamless integrations). But how often do we stop to ask whether we should? In this thought-provoking session, Glen Holmes explores the ethics behind the products we design, test, and release. Drawing inspiration from the famous “Jurassic Park” dilemma — they were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should — Glen dives into real-world examples where innovation collided with morality, from data misuse to algorithmic bias, and shows why ethical reflection must be part of every product and QA decision.

As Glen tailors his insights for the QA community, we’ll explore the moral responsibilities of testers and product managers alike: what it means to “test for ethics”, how to spot red flags early, and how to apply a simple 6-step framework for ethical decision-making in our day-to-day work. Expect an engaging, interactive discussion that challenges assumptions and equips you with practical tools to build better, fairer, and more responsible software.

2. Anna Prinz\, Quality Coordinator @ JetBrains: Quality at the End Is Already Lost

Most teams treat “quality” as something you verify at the end. Code ships fast, testing is expected to catch everything and when releases slip the question is: “Why didn’t QA stop this?” This talk argues that by the time you’re asking that question, it’s already too late.

Anna will show how teams accidentally design for failure: overloaded delivery pipelines, unclear “ready” meaningless “done” and quality gates that act like brand protection instead of system design. She’ll connect Conway’s Law, Toyota Flow, the Theory of Constraints and basic queuing theory to explain why you don’t get quality from inspection. You get it from how your system runs.

You’ll learn how to:

• use shift-left testing, Definition of Ready, and Definition of Done to create quality before code is written
• use WIP limits, flow control and queue management to stop work from becoming a technical debt before it ever ships
• read overload signals in your pipeline and spot when “shipping faster” is actually slowing delivery down

It’s not about adding more testing, but about building a delivery system where quality is produced on purpose not rescued at the end.

3. Evgenii Sukhanov\, Staff iOS Engineer @ Bolt: Testing Mobile Analytics for Confident Product Decisions

Evgenii will share practical insights on testing product analytics in mobile apps. He will cover common pitfalls, effective testing strategies, and best practices for documentation. The session will explain what product analytics is, why it matters, and how missing or incorrect event data can lead to misguided product decisions. Combining developer and QA perspectives, Evgenii will demonstrate how unit tests, UI tests, and manual validation work together to ensure reliable and actionable data. Attendees will walk away with concrete tips to improve analytics quality and foster better collaboration across teams.
