Co-Founder & CTO, BreezeML

Ravi Netravali is the Co-Founder and CTO of BreezeML, as well as a Professor of Computer Science at Princeton University. At BreezeML, our mission is to empower machine learning practitioners and organizations to build AI governance "by construction": our platform seamlessly bridges the efforts of data science and GRC teams, enabling continual monitoring and documentation of custom AI policies for all stages of any AI pipeline. At Princeton, Ravi's work focuses on developing machine learning systems to improve the performance, efficiency, and affordability of large-scale training and inference workloads. The systems that his group builds have been deployed at scale through organizations such as Google, Netflix, and Microsoft. His honors include the Sloan Research Fellowship, SIGCOMM Rising Star Award, NSF CAREER Award, Google and Facebook Faculty Research Awards, and an IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize.

A Chief Privacy Officer, a Computer Scientist, and a Lawyer walk into a bar … and the bartender is a Chief Data Officer.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming our world, and with it comes the risk of unintended consequences. AI can infringe on privacy, create and perpetuate bias and discrimination, negatively impact economic opportunities, and harm customers. AI can spread disinformation and perpetuate deepfakes, affecting democratic processes and participation. Companies and institutions face reputational, cultural, economic, legal, and regulatory risks if they don’t identify, address, and govern AI’s potential harm to individuals and society throughout the AI lifecycle.

This panel discussion among data experts will explore the importance of creating and maintaining AI systems that are human-centric, accountable, transparent, explainable, and privacy enhanced.
