Product managers for BI platforms have it easy. They "just" need to have the dev team build a tool that gives all types of users access to all of the data they should be allowed to see in a way that is quick, simple, and clear while preventing them from pulling data that can be misinterpreted. Of course, there are a lot of different types of users—from the C-level executive who wants ready access to high-level metrics all the way to the analyst or data scientist who wants to drop into a SQL flow state to everyone in between. About the talk

Code & Supply invested in building a data analysis and document authorship pipeline to produce its latest Compensation Survey Report. Building on its experience in previous iterations, C&S used Python, Jupyter notebooks, pandas, Polars, Plotly, pandoc, and many other tools to analyze responses from more than 800 people and produce a more than 100 page report. In this presentation, Colin Dean will discuss the survey and analysis effort, which can serve as an example of how to get started doing data science, building consistent data visualizations, and collaborating on a large scientific paper.

Getting to the event

We'll be at Code & Supply Workspace & Community Center. Attendees are welcome to use the parking lot associated with the building off St Clair Street. The front door on Friendship Avenue will be open but is stairs-only. There's an elevator by the parking lot entrance. Head to the third floor and look for signs pointing to the presentation room, where the event will be held. All doors should be unlocked and open, so you're welcome to come right in!

Jean-Georges Perrin, leader technologique, président d'AIDA User Group et auteur de plusieurs livres, dont Implementing Data Mesh (O'Reilly) et Spark in Action, 2e édition (Manning ) profite de son passage en France pour animer cette conférence, en Français, autour des thèmes de Data Product et Data Contract.

Lors de cette session, Jean-Georges Perrin va présenter les concepts novateurs qui sont les fondamentaux du modern data engineering. Il va décrire ce que sont les Data Contract, Data Product et Data Mesh et parler des tendances du marché pour 2024.
