ProductTank# 35 Mental models for building AI-driven products
2024-11-18 · 17:30
This Meetup is presented by our friends from ProductTank Berlin. For more information and to help us keep track, please register via the Meetup page of ProductTank Berlin here! About the evening AI isn’t just a cool extra anymore—it’s becoming essential for building great products. But bringing AI into the mix can feel tricky: how do you make sure it’s actually adding value and fitting into your product’s bigger picture? It’s all about taking a holistic approach, where AI works in sync with user needs and business goals. This month at ProductTank, Dr. Janna Lipenkova will introduce a set of practical mental models to help product managers structure AI initiatives and anticipate AI-specific challenges. Drawing on real-world examples, she will demonstrate how these approaches have guided her teams in building successful AI applications across different environments, from startups to large enterprises. Janna will also offer a sneak peek into her forthcoming book, The Art of AI Product Management. Join us for pretzel, beer, and insightful conversations Thank you to our hosts Thoughtworks for making this event possible! Our speaker Janna Lipenkova Dr. Janna Lipenkova is an advisor and entrepreneur in AI. In 2015, she did her PhD in Natural Language Processing and spent some years collecting hands-on experience in both academia and industry. Designing the user experience of AI products by Dr. Janna Lipenkova Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we develop and use software. It takes us from a world of deterministic interfaces toward more flexible, probabilistic interactions - and while these are often more powerful, they also require more judgement, critical thinking, and know-how from users. In this talk, I will talk about state-of-the-art best practices and design patterns in AI UX design. We will cover topics such as how to manage failures, guide users through AI interfaces, and communicate the capabilities, but - crucially - also the limitations of an AI product or feature. The talk is based on learnings and insights that I synthesized while driving the discovery and development efforts of numerous AI projects. Sign up now! We are looking forward to you :) |
