🎉 Welcome to yet another meetup by PyData Milan! 🚀 Would you like to know what the old Reverend Bayes had to say about WeRoad's marketing campaigns? Or perhaps you'd prefer venture in the unexplored quantum world? We assure you: you won't need a time machine, it's just PyData Milan's next meetup!

Agenda:

  • 🚪 18:30 Door Opening: Get in, grab a seat, and feel the vibe!
  • 🗣 19:00 Talks Start: The international speakers are up with some cool talks!
  • 🍻 Post-Talks Socializing: Let's chat, network, and share ideas right at the venue.
  • 🍝 Dinner Time: Hungry for more? Join us as we move out for a dinner together!

Save the date: February 21st @ Accenture📍 Piazza Gae Aulenti, 8, 20124 Milano MI

🧠 Is your marketing effective? Let Bayes decide! Emanuele Fabbiani, Head of AI @xtream - Digital Products & AI Solutions Understanding the effectiveness of various marketing channels is crucial to maximise the return on investment (ROI). However, the limitation of third-party cookies and an ever-growing focus on privacy make it difficult to rely on basic analytics. This talk discusses a pioneering project where a Bayesian model was employed to assess the marketing media mix effectiveness of WeRoad, the fastest-growing Italian tour operator.

Attendees will walk away with: - A simple understanding of the Bayesian approach and why it matters. - Concrete examples of the transformative impact on WeRoad's marketing strategy. - A blueprint to harness predictive models in their business strategies.

Engineer by education, Data Scientist by choice, researcher and lecturer by passion. I earned a PhD in Machine Learning by researching time series forecasting in the energy field. I was a guest researcher at EPFL Lausanne, and I'm now the co-founder of xtream, a Machine Learning consulting boutique. I published 8 papers in international journals, presented and organised tracks and workshops at international conferences, including AMLD and ERUM, and lectured in Italy, Switzerland, and Poland.

⚛️ A Glimpse of the Quantum Data Jungle Nathan Shammah, Chief Technology Officer @ Unitary Fund In this talk I’ll provide an overview of the data landscape and open source ecosystem in quantum technology.

What does it mean to use quantum data? How to program quantum computers? What open source projects exist in this ecosystem, e.g., for debugging quantum programs or mitigating errors? How to benchmark quantum computers and collect machine-readable datasets and standardized benchmarks?

I will answer these questions and give an overview of Unitary Fund's projects and programs, such as unitaryHACK (a bounty program for OSS quantum projects), Metriq (an OSS quantum benchmarking platform), and Mitiq (a Python compiler for quantum programs).

Nathan Shammah leads the technical staff at Unitary Fund, a non-profit organization that performs in-house research in quantum tech and develops its open-source ecosystem.

Nathan is a contributor for various open-source projects, such as Metriq, Mitiq, and the Quantum Toolbox in Python (QuTiP). He's been a mentor for Google Summer of Code under NumFOCUS. He is an advisor for Quantum Italia.

Previously, he was a postdoctoral research scientist at RIKEN, Japan, where he worked in the Theoretical Quantum Physics Laboratory. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Southampton, UK.

🎉 Can't wait to see you all there! Let's make this first meetup a blast! 💥

📢 Remember to Sign Up! If you can't come, please let us know by canceling your ticket at least one day before the event. This helps us plan better and allows others to attend if they're interested. We look forward to seeing you there!

👤 Please remember to RSVP using your name and surname. For security reasons, we have to provide the venue with the list of attendants the day before the event.
