Let’s Talk Tech: How to Build and Govern Agentic Systems
2025-11-26 · 17:30
Join us on November 26 to dive into the best practices for building agentic AI safely and effectively with Guillaume Laforge, Developer Advocate at Google, and Maxime Appé, Manager, Product Management at Dataiku. 6:30 to 7:15 pm: Guillaume Laforge, Google AI Agents: The New Frontier for LLMs Know your way around large language models? Mastered retrieval-augmented generation to help an LLM search your documents? It’s time to take the next step with AI agents. In this session, you’ll learn what makes a system “agentic”, the limitations of LLMs, and how to build different types of agents in Java using LangChain4j and the Agent Development Kit (ADK). Expect practical examples of agent patterns that go beyond a simple LLM call to respond intelligently, take action, and adapt to user needs. Building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) apps is just the start. Learn what comes next with Agents. 7:15 to 8 pm: Maxime Appé, Dataiku Navigating the AI Safety Landscape: Learning from CeSIA’s Bootcamp AI is evolving fast, and safety research is racing to keep up. In this session, we’ll break down key insights from the AI Safety Bootcamp hosted by the Centre for AI Security. We’ll explore how to navigate AI’s rapid progress, unpacking what “intelligence” or “model agency” really mean, before turning to the risks and mitigation strategies that define the AI safety landscape today. 8 - 10PM: Meet & greet with drinks Dataiku will only use your personal information to provide the product or service you requested and contact you with related content that may interest you. Plongée au coeur des LLM à long contexte
2025-06-17 · 16:30
Laurent Picard
– Developer Relations Engineer
@ Google Cloud

AI meetup (In-person): Generative AI, LLMs and Google Vertex AI
2023-10-19 · 16:00
Pre-registration is required for admission, complete RSVP here: https://www.aicamp.ai/event/eventdetails/W2023101810 Description: Welcome to our in-person AI meetup in Paris. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI/ML, food/drink, networking with speakers & fellow developers, and win lucky draw prizes. Agenda:
Tech Talk 1: Building a Petabyte-Scale Vector Store: Powering Future AGI Speaker: Cedrick Lunven @Datastax Abstract: A laptop proof of concept won’t cut it for this impending era of generative AI. Let’s dig into the mechanics of building and using a petabyte-scale vector store and the future of handling data in generative AI models. This talk will focus on the work in the Apache Cassandra® project to develop a vector store capable of handling petabytes of data, discussing why this capacity is critical for future AI applications. I will also connect how this pertains to the exciting new generation of AI technologies like Improved Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Forward-Looking Active Retrieval Augmented Generation (FLARE) that all contribute to the growing need for such scalable solutions. Finally, we’ll discuss the importance of planning for future scalability and how to effectively manage AI agents in this new age of data. Tech Talk 2: Generative AI in practice: Concrete LLM use cases in Java, with the PaLM API Speaker: Guillaume Laforge @Google Cloud Abstract: Large language models (LLMs) are a powerful new technology that can be used for a variety of tasks, including generating text, translating languages, and writing different kinds of creative content. However, LLMs can be difficult to use, especially for developers who are not proficient in Python, the lingua franca for AI. So what about us Java developers? How can we make use of Generative AI? This presentation will go through how to use LLMs in Java without the need for Python. We will use the PaLM API, provided by Google Cloud Vertex AI services, to perform a variety of tasks, such as searching through documentation, generating kids stories, summarizing content, extracting keywords or entities, and more. Speakers/Topics: Stay tuned as we are updating speakers and schedules. If you have a keen interest in speaking to our community, we invite you to submit topics for consideration: Submit Topics Partners/Sponsors: We are actively seeking sponsors to support our community. Whether it's by offering venue spaces, providing food/drink, or cash sponsor. Sponsors will have the chance to speak at the meetups, receive prominent recognition, and gain exposure through post-event emails sent to our extensive membership base of 8,000+ local or 300K+ developers worldwide. Community on Slack - Event chat: chat and connect with speakers and attendees - Sharing blogs\, events\, job openings\, projects collaborations Join Slack (search and join the #paris channel) Community Managers: we are looking for passionate community managers who are enthusiastic about nurturing tech communities. Join us in planning, hosting meetup events, and build and grow the local AI/ML developer community. In addition to broadening your personal network and acquiring valuable tech skills, we'll make sure to reward your dedication and time. Venues: We are currently searching for venues to host the monthly AI meetup, which typically attracts 50\~100 attendees. This is an excellent opportunity for your company/team to gain exposure to a large tech community. Please don't hesitate to suggest potential venues if you have leads. |
