Native Write-Back in Fabric: How to build Translytical Task Flows for Power BI Have you ever wanted to add data entry and write-back functionality to your Power BI Reports?

Perhaps you've wanted to add comments to data points, allow users to input new data entries, or perform master data management tasks?

Translytical Task Flows in Fabric & Power BI allows you to do all of the above and much more, natively within the platform, without needing licenses for external solutions.

In this session we will cover the following essential building blocks for Translytical Task Flows: - How to create User Data Functions in Fabric for interacting with your backend. - How to trigger your Functions from Power BI - How to provide the best possible User Experience in Power BI\, by using slicers and inputs to parameterize your write-back actions. - Pros\, Cons and Limitations\, also in comparison with other write-back solutions (Power Apps\, 3rd party solutions).

The session will teach you all of the above through the case of a Comment/Annotation write-back solution, which you after this session will easily be able to build for your own Power BI reports.

I'm Jon, a Copenhagen-based data nerd working as a Principal Consultant at Inspari. I work as a Fabric & Power BI Architect, and spend every day trying to empower business users to do more with these platforms themselves. Outside work, I recently became a parent for the first time, and spend whatever little time is left over riding bikes, playing boardgames and solving Rubik's Cubes.

We have exciting news!

As we alluded to during our last virtual meetup with Jeroen ter Heerdt, we're doing an in-person meeting in Stockholm the same week as the European Fabric Conference! This means that some people that usually are not physically in Stockholm can join us.

We have one session from Jon Stjernegaard Vöge on moving from Power BI to Fabric and what Fabric means for a Power BI user, and then we are hosting a panel discussion with several speakers from the community on this topic - a better opportunity for asking questions can't be found!

Event agenda:

17:30 - 18:00

  • Welcome and mingle

18:00 - 20.30

  • From Data Analyst to Analytics Engineer with Microsoft Fabric - Jon Stjernegaard Vöge
  • Food and drinks
  • Discussion panel on moving from Power BI to Fabric

Come join us on Monday, September 23rd at Zington!

******************************************************************************* Please note: due to the need to figure food and space (there is a maximum number of attendees we can fit) you MUST sign up at the event link here: https://event.zingtongroup.com/swedish-power-bi-and-fabric-user-group-meetupzington *******************************************************************************
