12th PyData Lisbon Meetup
2024-02-28 · 18:00
Heya everyone, We rebooted PyData Lisbon last October with an amazing kickoff session, and we’re happy to announce that the next one is just around the corner! This time we’re having a presentation and a round table with some amazing speakers as well as the usual pizza, drinks, and networking. Check the details below 👇 Mastering Python Projects with Poetry - Vitor Manita Dive into Poetry and its synergistic usage with Pyenv, two useful tools in the Python ecosystem for managing virtual environments and dependencies. This session by Vítor is designed to provide an understanding of how to effectively utilize Poetry for robust dependency management and project configuration, alongside Pyenv for precise Python version control. This tutorial is ideal for developers looking to enhance their proficiency in a Python project setup and for those seeking to ensure consistency, reproducibility, and efficiency in their projects. LLMs in Production aka LLMOps - Round table Reflecting on a year of experimentation with Large Language Models (LLMs), we ponder: What have we learned about using LLMs in production? As we explore this, let’s consider the trade-offs between self-hosting and relying on APIs. What are the pros and cons regarding cost, latency, privacy, and other critical factors? Moreover, let’s dive into the current state of the art for tracking and monitoring LLM systems. We're having an amazing panel to dive into these questions and more, bringing unique perspectives from a variety of sectors - a Cloud Provider, a Startup, a Scale-up, and a Consultancy:
Program: 18:00 - 18:30: Walk-in 18:30 - 19:15: “Mastering Python Projects with Poetry” by Vítor Manita 19:15 - 19:30: Quick Break 19:30 - 20:30: “LLMs in Production aka LLMOps” with João Galego, Jorge Pessoa, Miguel Vera, Vítor Manita and Telmo Felgueira 20:30 Onwards: Networking, Pizza and Drinks Looking forward to seeing you, Telmo @ Loka |

FPBIPT #60 - Live at Lisbon
2023-11-21 · 17:00
If you live in the Lisbon area, we are coming back to a live in person event packed with great content! 3 sessions and a coffee break/networking. If you're in the area on the 21st of November, don't miss this great opportunity to get in touch with your fellow community members. Special notes:
Session 1 - Delta Lakehouse Optimization for PowerBI - Ricardo Castro Santos The Lakehouse and the Delta Lake table format are central to Microsoft Fabric, as a data architecture platform for storing, managing, and analyzing structured and unstructured data in a single location, assuring that tables are optimized for analytics is a key requirement. In this session, we will look into the importance and the benefits of delta tables and their features that enable and maximize query performance in-memory like data access times. Session 2 - Mastering Row Level Security in PowerBI - Jorge Pessoa Are you ready to take control of your data and ensure it's only accessed by those who should see it? This session will empower with the knowledge of how to approach multiple-level security (RLS) scenarios, from basic setups to more advanced rule-based configurations. Whether you're new to RLS or seeking to enhance your expertise, this event offers valuable insights for all levels. We will guide you through setting up RLS in PowerBI, from fundamental configurations to more advanced, applying best practices on this implementation, and most importantly, impersonating our end users to test everything and avoid undesired leaks. Session 3 - Demystifying Power BI Developer Mode for Business User - Miguel Félix The new Power BI Developer Mode changes dataset and report development, providing a faster, more accessible approach. This mode includes source control and seamless integration with DevOps and Fabric, making it an impressive tool for advanced users and IT professionals. However, the good news is that you don't need to be a full-time developer or have an extensive IT background to benefit from this feature. In this session, I will demonstrate how you can take advantage of Developer Mode without the need for advanced integrations like DevOps and Fabric. I will showcase how this option enables you to: - Perform actions like renaming\, sorting\, duplicating\, and deleting report pages. - Seamlessly copy and paste entire pages between reports. - Update your dataset with new calculations and queries. - Create or modify table Model Views. - Manage bookmarks through renaming and deleting. - Duplicate visualizations effortlessly. - And much more. Join me to discover how you can enhance your reports and datasets without even opening Power BI Desktop. About the event:
