Doug MacWilliams is a director in the Data Engineering and Analytics practice at West Monroe, a management technology consulting company. Doug has a passion for designing and building data solutions at the intersection of business and technology. He architects solutions that unlock data and deliver the needed insights in a pragmatic approach, optimized for long term maintenance and client skill sets. With his business background he understands what insights business leaders want and how to model data to represent the business process. Doug has a proven track record delivering many successful projects and leads teams focused on enterprise data strategies, building data platforms and analytics. He is a thought leader in data fabric methodology. Doug received his undergrad at University of Colorado in Business Operations and started his career in custom manufacturing and furniture making. He pivoted and moved into technology and data with a master’s in computer science focused on Computer Vision from DePaul University 15 years ago. He then worked in telecom and boutique BI consulting company before joining West Monroe 8+ years ago. Doug has had the opportunity to travel extensively around the world, especially during his Semester at Sea in college, and lived abroad after college.
