Jamie Underwood is a partner in Latham’s Intellectual Property (IP) Group and co-head of the firm’s practice before the U.S. International Trade Commission. Recognized by the global IP and trade communities for many years, Ms. Underwood resolves multinational disputes in a wide range industries, achieving business-driven results. She also advocates for clients before Congress, federal agencies, and the Administration. Ms. Underwood serves as a thought leader in the IP and trade arenas, speaking and writing regularly on these subjects. She is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has held Board and Executive Committee positions in key national IP organizations. In addition, Ms. Underwood has lectured at multiple law schools and participated on the global stage as an NGO delegate to World Trade Organization Ministerial Conferences. Ms. Underwood’s thought leadership extends to the realm of artificial intelligence. She is a member of Latham’s AI Task Force, which counsels the world’s emerging and established AI pioneers, as well as companies in sectors undergoing AI-powered transformations and others using AI to maximize their performance. Ms. Underwood focuses on policies and case law shaping the future of AI in the patent field. This includes comprehensive strategies for securing and maintaining a competitive advantage in a variety of technology streams.
