PyDataMCR August Talks Continuing to kick this year off with some more great talks we are hosted this month by Slalom Consulting. THE TALKS Creating a Raspberry Pi Cluster for Parallel Python Application Testing - Daniel Hung Daniel will be showcasing the capabilities of Raspberry Pi using open-source tools to build an affordable distributed computer cluster. The presentation focuses on the challenges of building an RPI cluster and demonstrates the benefits of having your own platform for testing and experimenting with distributed computing for learning purposes. Daniel is a Senior Consultant in the Data and Technology department at Salom. He has extensive experience in Python, which he has gained from working on data and simulation projects over the years. He has a strong background in building, running, and maintaining complex applications in distributed systems in Cloud and HPC environments. Agile and Data Product Teams - Surely that doesn't work? - Lucy Stafford-Hughes Lucy will take a look at using Agile methods and scaled Agile frameworks in Data Product teams, with examples from retail and government. Considering the unique challenges data product teams have that vary from software development, and how this can work in the real world. Lucy is a business transformation and agile specialist with experience across a number of sectors including policing, housing, automotive, retail and government. She is currently supporting HMRC Digital Transformation to a new ITIL and Agile based framework, including a test and learn with the Minerva data platform teams moving from programme delivery to service and product delivery LOCATION We'll be at Slalom Consulting, who are also kindly supplying catering.
