Agenda:
6 PM - Doors open, networking, drinks, food
6.30 PM - 6.45PM - AWS Women’s User Group Berlin Welcome
& Career in AWS Europe Sovereign Cloud by Tamar Inbar Shelach, Systems Development Manager at AWS
6.45 PM - 7.30 PM - Converging on Platforms by Evelyn Osman, Head of Platform at enmacc.
As organizations grow, they seek agility, often aiming to simplify processes for both developers and the business. We frequently see companies accelerating development with DevOps, then shifting to SRE, and adopting models like a Cloud Center of Excellence to merge development and operations. As "You build it, you run it" challenges arise, a platform naturally forms. But how do these transformations lead to convergence? In this talk, we’ll explore how platforms evolve and the critical factors for their success.
7.30 PM - 7.50 PM - Break & Networking
7.50 PM - 8:35 PM - Kubernetes Observability by Olja Smilić, DevOps Engineer at Aignostics.
The Kubernetes observability talk will cover how to monitor, trace, and troubleshoot applications in a Kubernetes environment. It will highlight key tools like Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for tracking metrics, logs, and distributed traces. Topics include improving visibility into clusters and microservices, detecting anomalies, and ensuring reliability. The session will focus on best practices for proactive observability and efficient debugging to maintain the health of cloud-native applications.
8:35 - 9:00 PM - Networking and Drinks.
About Evelyn:
Evelyn is the Head of Platform at enmacc, she has been in the IT world since 2006 with experience ranging from security compliance to AWS architecture and integration with her first foray into AWS occurring back in 2011 when she was the sole voice in her team against cloud. She carries a wide arsenal of skills from a variety of roles but if you ask her what she really does, it will be spending her days convincing engineers that a product mindset will make them hate their product managers less.
About Olja:
Olja is currently a DevOps Engineer at Aignostics, holding an MSc in Electrical Engineering. Her engineering journey began as an Industrial automation engineer, where she was programming industrial machines and making them work smoothly. This experience ignited a passion for servers and networking, leading to extensive experience with on-prem VMware infrastructure and bare metal deployments. Now, Olja is navigating the exciting world of cloud computing as a DevOps engineer.
