Democratizing agent building in Microsoft 365 Copilot

Learn how employees can create personalized, work-grounded agents using Copilot Studio in Microsoft 365 Copilot. With just words, they can turn ideas into fully functional agents—complete with structured logic and clear instructions. These agents can access the Microsoft work graph, connect to external systems, generate Office files, and scale to the full Copilot Studio experience. We’ll also show how IT can enable secure, governed agent creation while empowering users with intuitive tools.

User guides are the piece you often hit right after clicking the "Learn" or "Get Started" button in a package's documentation. They're responsible for onboarding new users, and providing a learning path through a package. Surprisingly, while pieces of documentation like the API Reference tend to be the same, the design of user guides tend to differ across packages.

In this talk, I'll discuss how to design an effective user guide for open source software. I'll explain how the guides for Polars, DuckDB, and FastAPI balance working end-to-end like a course, with being browsable like a reference.

The accidental analytics engineer

There’s a good chance you’re an analytics engineer who just sort of landed in an analytics engineering career. Or made a murky transition from data science/data engineering/software engineering to full-time analytics person. When did you realize you fell into the wild world of analytics engineering?

In this session, Michael Chow (RStudio) draws upon his experience building open source data science tools and working with the data science community to discuss the early signs of a budding analytics engineer, and the small steps these folks can take to keep the best parts of Python and R, all while moving towards engineering best practices.
