Lindsay joined the UK Ministry of Defence in April 2022 as Head of Data Management, Governance and Skills Development within the CDO function of Defence Digital. She is accountable for the development of the Data Management Framework and also responsible for the delivery of enterprise data standards, Data Governance tooling and solutions. Her role is to enable Defence to adapt to a new way of working with data, ensuring it is accessible, well-curated and trusted for use; assuring it is both human and machine ready for exploitation, for business and military outputs to achieve advantage.
In driving this shift in culture and behaviours she is leading on the development of new data career pathways, talent initiatives and uplifting skills and resourcing.

Lindsay's work involves her joining forces across His Majesty’s Government, Industry and the global Defence data environment with links with partners, NATO, Five Eyes and the US Department of Defence.

She is an experienced Data Management and Governance Leader who is passionate about enabling others and supporting their development, providing an inclusive environment to develop. Lindsay is enthusiastic about driving a cultural change across Defence, promoting diversity and inclusion at all levels. Her purpose is empowering people through data, and she lives by the mantra that “We are stronger together”!
