Ashokkan Somuveerappan is the Chief Information Officer of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. in India, based in Chennai, where he leads IT strategy and security across the Apollo Hospitals group. He has steered digitization of hospital processes through HIS, EMR, LIS, RIS, PACS, ERP and tele-radiology initiatives, helping Apollo’s hospitals achieve standardized care delivery and pursue HIMSS, ISO 27001 and JCI accreditation. He holds the CHCIO, CSCS credentials and an Innovation and Digital Transformation Program Management credential from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He also serves as Treasurer and Founding Board Member of the CHiME India Chapter and promotes HealthIT education in the region.
