Partnerships Manager – Women in Data®

Representing Ireland in the traditionally male-dominated sport, Taekwondo, at a World and European level, as well as embarking on a career as a Data Recruitment Consultant in a male-heavy tech industry has conditioned me to strive to be a positive force, driving equity and supporting women.

Through harnessing nurturing relationships with Women in Data®'s incredible partners, I aim to give women a platform to share their data journey and the opportunity to be an inspiration for inciting another generation of women to establish careers in the data space - this inches us closer to achieving gender parity in the data industry.

I work innovatively with forward-thinking organisations, helping them attract, develop and retain more balanced teams within their data and tech divisions. As well as co-ordinate engaging activities and events to collate their internal data and tech teams. This ultimately furthers diversity, equity and inclusion within the data industry.

Across multiple industries, time and again Data and Analytics teams find it difficult to setup and execute experimentation programs at scale in order to drive sustainable, data-driven growth. A significant challenge we have identified is the limited time teams have to focus on new ideas, challenges and R&D, with BAU responsibilities often taking priority. In this panel, we will explore ways that both Twenty First Group and Motorway have tried to address this issue by giving their Data and Analytics teams protected time, spaces and roles to enable these longer term development goals. In partnership with Women in Data we will explore how to best identify that critical (female) talent that can help facilitate these kinds of initiatives and how we can continue to empower our teams to succeed in an ever-changing industry.
