Getting into the Tech industry can be a challenge, but it doesn't stop there: You now also have to think about your career development. Join us for an event where we'll explore the options together.

✍️ Event description When you start out in tech, you will reach a point where you are faced with the question: Where do you want to go next? Do you want to go into management in the future? Or will you try and get one of the few staff / principal engineer roles? Or maybe you want to do something entirely different - go solo, found your own company or switch into an entirely different career. There are many options, and it can be hard to figure out the best path to aim for.

1. Talk: Dana's Career Path In this session, Dana will provide an overview of her career journey, going from software developer to project management and finally to consulting. She will also share insights from her experience as a founder of FemXX Health, a healthcare startup, and discuss the motivations that guided her career choices. Last but not least, Dana will reflect on her past experience, offering some insights for those looking to navigate their own career paths in tech.

Panel: Career Paths in Tech Our panel of people with diverse career paths will discuss about the different obvious and less obvious paths that are open to a developer who wants to progress in their career. The panelists will also answer your questions on the topic.

Dana Aronovici Holding a BSc in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Torino and a MSc in Robotics from ETH Zürich, Dana has 8+ years of professional experience in a mix of software development and project and product management roles. She worked for several industries mainly in corporate environments, before becoming a mom and founding her own startup in the healthcare sector. Now she works as a Software Engineering Consultant at Project A, supporting clients with technical topics.

🪑 Panelists

Anna Wyrwinska An engineering leader with over 20 years of experience in software development, including more than 5 years as an Engineering Manager across public sector, corporate environments, and startups. Outside of work, Anna is a wife and mom of a toddler.

Yankang Li Coming from China originally, Yankang studied computer science and after spending her days in a suit as an IT consultant for banks, she discovered hoodies and set off to democratize satellite pictures with Argo workflows and Spring Boot. Since more than 3 years she works in her favourite industry - real estate, in different roles from Full-Stack Software Engineer to Engineering Manager.

Judith Böhlert Judith is a full-stack software engineer with 7 years of experience. Last year, she embarked on a self-employment journey after being employed at different companies, from small startups to big corporations. She now supports companies as a freelance software engineer and consultant and helps them ship amazing products.
