In this presentation, Michiel Rozema and Henk Vlootman will be presenting on Next Level Power Query & DAX. This meetup is in-person only and is not recorded. What to expect Power Query and the Power BI model, or Power Pivot in Excel, give you powerful possibilities to turn your data into valuable insights. These tools offer a visual way to build analytic solutions, which makes it easy to get started and quickly achieve powerful results. But it doesn’t end there: with a bit of coding, you have even more power in your hands. In this session, we discuss two examples of techniques that go beyond what the UI allows you to do. First, we discuss custom functions in Power Query, for which we need to dive into the M language. The second example is the use of the new WINDOW family of functions in DAX. We demonstrate both with a single application: analysing box office results for popular movies. Location: This event is to be held in Meeting Room 3, Canada Water Library, 21 Surrey Quays Rd, London SE16 7AR.
