We zijn dit keer te gast in het nieuwe pand van Get There. Daar gaan we weer samen in gesprek over alles op het gebied van data.

De meetup wordt gestart door Harmen Faber met een uitleg over de dataoplossing voor get-sportive. Dit wordt gevolgd door een hapje eten. Voor de tweede sessie heeft Darius Dobber van Stenden zich aangeboden!

Sessie 1: De dataoplossing voor get-sportive In deze sessie delen we onze ervaringen met Get-Sportive, het jaarlijkse vitaliteitsinitiatief van Get There. Samen met collega’s sporten we voor het goede doel, houden we onze actieve minuten bij via Strava en motiveren we elkaar met challenges en een live dashboard. We laten zien hoe dit project niet alleen zorgt voor meer energie en teamspirit, maar ook hoe we het technisch hebben opgezet. Denk aan een verplichte registratiepagina via Strava, een AI-component die personen op foto’s herkent, een dashboard met de actuele tussenstand én een voorspelling van het eindbedrag!

Sessie 2: Fabric @ Stenden Vorig studiejaar hebben er veel veranderingen plaatsgevonden binnen NHL Stenden op het gebied van managementinformatie. Tijdens deze periode heeft er een migratie plaatsgevonden van de bestaande rapportages in Qlikview naar Microsoft Fabric en Power BI. Daarnaast is er een nieuw team opgericht die de nieuwe rapportages ontwikkelt en beheert.

Tijdens deze sessie wordt toegelicht welke keuzes er zijn gemaakt en voor welke keuzes en uitdagingen wij nu staan. De focus zal voornamelijk liggen op het dataplatform in Microsoft Fabric.

Join us at the Qlik Boston office for an evening focused on Qlik AI performance, context, and comparison. This session goes beyond roadmap slides and into real results, showing where Qlik stands against the market in today’s AI landscape.

We’ll cover three key areas:

• Statistical Analysis — How Qlik compares in accuracy and reliability for advanced statistical research and real-world science applications
• Machine Learning — Benchmarking Qlik Predict against other ML tools and platforms
• Generative AI — Evaluating Qlik Answers in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and LLM benchmark tests

In addition, we’ll demonstrate how Qlik can agentic ally interact with multiple tools through its powerful APIs and some LLM tools.

DevOps Society Meetup – Thursday 9th October @6PM

SPEAKER 1 - Matt Houghton - Data & AI Architect @ CDL

AWS Community Builder \| AWS Ambassador \| AWS Gold Jacket Certification All-Star Matt is an Architect at CDL Software, where he spends his time undertaking R&D and working with customers and internal teams on their most complex challenges. He is an AWS Community Builder, AWS Ambassador, and holds every AWS certification. In 2021, Qlik recognised Matt as one of their 50 Global Luminaries for his measurable impact with data and community contributions.

Talk Title: Ensure the Security and Reliability of Your GenAI Workloads with Amazon Bedrock In this session, Matt will explore emerging risks associated with GenAI-based workloads and share strategies for testing, securing, and monitoring them using Amazon Bedrock. He’ll highlight and demonstrate some of the latest features announced for Amazon Bedrock, showcasing how they can help you design more effective and reliable GenAI workloads.

SPEAKER 2 - Ben Clark - DevOps Consultant Ben Clark is a DevOps consultant with over a decade of experience leading platform engineering and automation across large enterprises. He specialises in distributed systems, ML-Ops, and data engineering. Ben also maintains open-source projects at sudoblark.com and is pursuing a BSc in Computing and IT, focusing on the mathematics of machine learning and its application to constrained and embedded systems.

Talk Title: A Hands-On Introduction to Quantisation: From Neural Weights to Edge Deployment This session builds a working understanding of neural network weights using simple perceptrons, then explains how quantisation reduces model size and computation. Ben will walk through the practical steps of deploying a quantised model to a Raspberry Pi, demonstrating how these techniques make neural networks viable on constrained hardware.
