You've heard way too much about AI - but you're not sure what you need it to do or what you want it to do. You're used to working with Azure SQL or SQL Server in some form or fashion but you don't know how to make them work with AI. Or, you're brand new to data and AI and want to know what you need to know so you can take that next step in your career. If any of this resonates with you, join me for this one hour session that takes you through what you can do with Azure AI and Azure SQL (and SQL Server 2025), whether it's for fun or for work. You'll walk out conversant in AI in the Microsoft data world and able to have that next conversation about data and AI and what you can do with it - either with your current boss or your next one.

Please note, that we will be using Microsoft Teams for the online portion of this meeting. You may want to join a few minutes early to ensure you do not have any issues. If you are attending in person, there are large TVs at the office, and you do not need to bring a laptop or use Teams.

We’ll start with a walkthrough of the technical setup of dbt at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, in the context of a migration to Databricks. Then we'll dive into how we handle deploying dbt to multiple targets for the duration of the migration. Finally we'll compare both environments with insights from an analytics engineering perspective.

An intro to RAGHack, a global hackathon to develop apps using LLMs and RAG. A large language model (LLM) like GPT-4 can be used for summarization, translation, entity extraction, and question-answering. Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) is an approach that sends context to the LLM so that it can provide grounded answers. RAG apps can be developed on Azure using a wide range of programming languages and retrievers (such as AI Search, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL). Get an overview of RAG in this session before diving deep in our follow-up streams.
