An intro to RAGHack, a global hackathon to develop apps using LLMs and RAG. A large language model (LLM) like GPT-4 can be used for summarization, translation, entity extraction, and question-answering. Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) is an approach that sends context to the LLM so that it can provide grounded answers. RAG apps can be developed on Azure using a wide range of programming languages and retrievers (such as AI Search, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL). Get an overview of RAG in this session before diving deep in our follow-up streams.

In this practical demo, I'll explore how AI, specifically GPT-4 and DALL-E, can transform traditional marketing. By analysing past McDonald's Halloween ads, we'll use AI to generate fresh, creative ad concepts and visuals. This live demonstration will showcase AI's power to accelerate and innovate marketing strategies, emphasizing chain of thought prompting and multimodality.
In this talk, James Bentley (Awin), shares his story of going from zero knowledge of python to building RAG tools, chatbots, and even multi-modal AI prototypes in under a year by using GPT4 as a coding assistant. He shares his ups, his downs, and tips on how to move fast, and not break too many things. He will also give his first ever live demo of a project.
In this demo intensive session Alan will show you how to use Azure Open AI Service to build natural language solutions from scratch. He will explain basic concepts of natural language processing, such as tokens, embeddings, and transformers. He will demonstrate how to use the Azure Open AI Service portal to create and deploy natural language models using pre-trained or custom data. He will also show you how to use the Azure Open AI Service SDK to interact with the models programmatically and integrate them with other Azure services.
In this talk, Jerry Cuomo explores the risks of incorporating ChatGPT directly into business operations and discusses open alternatives and approaches for maintaining trustworthy AI solutions. The talk covers potential security concerns, liability issues, IP complexities, open-source license considerations, and the limitations of AI development, and highlights IBM's watsonx as a viable contender with components watsonx.data, watsonx.ai, and watsonx.governance, as well as collaboration with Hugging Face.
