Discover the fundamentals of delivering API management as a platform service with Kong Konnect. In this introductory workshop, we’ll explore essential concepts and methodologies that Platform Providers use to provide scalable, self-service API management capabilities to Platform Consumers. Topics include Design for Federation (provider-consumer contracts, multi-tenant architecture, RBAC and system accounts for automated workflows) and Operationalize at Scale (templated provisioning and GitOps pipelines, governed self-provisioning, integration with external systems such as S3 and Vault for secrets and artifacts). This session includes live demos and walkthroughs to build a reference blueprint you can take back to your org. Ready to go deeper? This session sets you up for our 201 Workshop and Automations Developer Day.

Discover the fundamentals of delivering API management as a platform service with Kong Konnect. In this introductory workshop, we’ll explore essential concepts and methodologies that Platform Providers use to provide scalable, self-service API management capabilities to Platform Consumers. Design for Federation: map the Provider-Consumer contract so platform teams and product teams can work autonomously; navigate Kong Konnect’s multi-tenant architecture to isolate teams while sharing global policies; model RBAC and system accounts for fully programmatic workflows—no ticket queues. Operationalize at Scale: onboard new teams in minutes using templated provisioning and GitOps pipelines; give teams Infrastructure autonomy with governed self-provisioning of Platform resources; integrate external systems (e.g., S3, Vault) for secrets and artifacts. Throughout live demos and in-depth walkthroughs, you’ll build a reference blueprint you can take back to your org. Ready to go deeper? The talk focuses on the practical implementation of GitOps in a hybrid infrastructure setup, designing Helm charts and provisioning infrastructure with Terraform. Target audience: DevOps engineers or platform engineers building internal developer platforms, especially those working with Kubernetes.

Hands-on workshop on using Pulumi to deploy and manage Kubernetes applications, including the Pulumi Kubernetes provider, Pulumi Docker provider, integration with YAML manifests and Helm charts, and running Pulumi IaC programs in a GitOps fashion.

This talk shows how development and operations teams benefit from leveraging modern programming and deployment paradigms. Jacob Schwarz covers practices and patterns from cloud-native projects and shows modernisation approaches to improve existing systems. Cloud-native development practices enable DevOps teams to continuously deliver business value. GitOps and continuous deployments are crucial building blocks of modern platforms. Software is built to be managed in hybrid and serverless environments. Realising these benefits requires a mature cloud platform and experienced DevOps engineers. This session shows how existing solutions can adopt cloud-native thinking to modernise mission critical components. Jacob covers lessons learned from customer engagements to show how cloud-native thinking impacts teams efficiency, software quality, and production resiliency.
