🌟 Session Overview 🌟

Session Name: When the CFO Comes Knocking: Our Journey to a Cost Efficient Data Platform Speaker: Josef Goldstein Session Description: When was the last time you took a hard look at your AWS bill and felt good about what you saw?

According to Gartner forecasts, worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services is expected to grow by 20% in 2024, reaching an estimated total of nearly $680 billion.

We all know big data is expensive. As companies grow, so do their data expenses. But how much is too much? How do we know if we are growing efficiently or just burning through cash? And, most importantly, what can we do about it?

In this talk, we will share the story of our journey toward cost efficiency at Wix's big data platform group and how we reduced our cloud costs by over 50% in less than two years. We will discuss how to better understand the costs of self-service data platforms, the cultural shift and tools needed to build a cost-effective mindset in data engineering teams, and practical ways to start cost-optimizing your data operations tomorrow. 🚀 About Big Data and RPA 2024 🚀
