"Can we use AI for that?" is a question we've all heard by now. But should we? If yes, what type of AI fits, and what impacts should be considered? The regulatory landscape complicates matters with laws on data, AI technology, and ESG impacts, to name a few. Attend this session to learn five foundational steps to address in every AI project. While compliance isn't guaranteed with these steps, failure is likely without them.

Come together for a discussion with peers to discuss best practices and challenges around overcoming AI challenges for enterprises in the Pulic Sector. Peer Meetups are networking sessions that allow you to connect and share with a small group of your peers, without Gartner facilitation. Please make every effort to attend your Peer Meetup as other attendees will be looking forward to meeting with you.

Analytics is experiencing another monumental change. Just as visual drag and drop BI tools and augmented insights led to changes in analytics delivery, we now experience conversational interfaces, automated workflows and AI agents that cause us to rethink how analytics will be done. Join this session to learn the new technologies that are making an impact and how this will affect plans for future investment in analytics tools, platforms and solutions.

The data landscape is rapidly evolving, with the rise of data marketplaces, AI, and self-service data access creating new data security and governance challenges. With over 45 million connections across broadband, mobile, TV, and home phone, VMO2 is on a mission to upgrade the UK. Hard at work making their data trustworthy and accessible, their data team is now ensuring nearly 16,000 colleagues can make the most of it.
Join Mauro Flores, EVP, Data Democratisation at VMO2, and Prukalpa Sankar, Co-founder of Atlan, for a behind-the-scenes look at how they’ve transformed Data Governance into a business enabler, taking an AI- and domain-based approach to build a single definition of trustworthy data, and unleashing it for end-users through data products.

Institutions face fragmented data ecosystems that slow AI adoption, increase compliance risks, and complicate governance. Without clear metadata lineage, trust, explainability, and operational efficiency suffer.
In this session, we demonstrate how automated lineage and metadata intelligence:
- Map end-to-end lineage across hybrid environments
- Ensure AI readiness with traceable, high-quality metadata.
- Simplify compliance with real-time data visibility.
- Empower teams with accessible data, avoiding IT bottlenecks.
Discover how institutions turn metadata into a competitive advantage.

Data governance is essential for every organisation—ensuring appropriate use of data and maximising its value. Done right, it doesn’t hold us back—it helps tackle collective challenges, especially within large, complex institutions.
James Benford will explore the contribution of data governance across three dimensions: aligning around a cohesive strategy, guiding data and information management, and enabling innovation through AI.
James will share learnings from the Bank of England’s evolving approach. A key lesson: viewing governance as the lever through which we shape our collective future—supported by culture, guided by humility, and built on trust.

Data and analytics leaders expect their data and analytics investments to deliver business results. The like button has transformed how we interact online, becoming a cornerstone of digital engagement with over 7 billion clicks daily. What started as a simple user interface solution has evolved into a powerful data collection tool that companies use to understand customer preferences, predict trends, and build sophisticated recommendation systems. The data behind these interactions forms what experts call the 'like graph' - a valuable network of connections that might be one of your company's most underutilized assets. Bob Goodson is President and Founder of Quid, a Silicon Valley–based company whose AI models are used by a third of the Fortune 50. Before starting Quid, he was the first employee at Yelp, where he played a role in the genesis of the like button and observed firsthand the rise of the social media industry. After Quid received an award in 2016 from the World Economic Forum for “Contributions to the Future of the Internet,” Bob served a two-year term on WEF’s Global Future Council for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics. While at Oxford University doing graduate research in language theory, Bob co-founded Oxford Entrepreneurs to connect scientists with business-minded students. Bob is co-author of a new book, Like: The Button That Changed the World, focussed on the origins of the ubiquitous Like Button in social media. In the episode, Richie and Bob explore the origins of the like button, its impact on user interaction and business, the evolution of social media features, the significance of relational data, and the future of social networks in the age of AI, and much more.
