October Monthly CASSUG Meeting

Greetings, data enthusiasts! Our October meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 14th, at 5:30 pm! We will meet in person at: Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce, 90 4th Street, Troy, NY. Please RSVP at https://www.meetup.com/capital-area-sql-server-user-group/events/299931181/ if you are attending, so we can purchase an appropriate amount of food for everyone. Food is TBA (will be announced closer to the event). For this meeting, we are welcoming Michelle Gutzait and Christian Cote, who are joining us all the way from Montreal! We usually wrap up between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. Michelle Gutzait and Christian Cote are presenting on a relatively new Microsoft/Azure offering that is a game-changer in the world of analytic data: Fabric from the Ground Up In this presentation, Christian and Michelle will talk about why do we want to use Microsoft Fabric and will explain the Fabric capacity, security and pricing models. They will also discuss the differences between a Lakehouse and a Warehouse, along with example use cases. Lastly, they will demonstrate the options, advantages and limitations of the Power BI Direct Lake access capability. |
