These tools address head-on the massive data privacy bottleneck--which has stifled innovation across multiple industries for years—by equipping builders everywhere with the ability to create quality datasets that scale. In short, synthetic data levels the playing field for everyone. This democratization of data will foster competition, scientific discoveries, and the inventions that will drive the next revolution of our data economy.  The company recently closed their series-A funding, led by Greylock, for another $12 million and brought Jason Warner, the current CTO for GitHub, on as an investor. Gretel also launched its latest public beta, Beta2, which offers privacy engineering as a service for everyone, not just developers. This week on Making Data Simple, we have Orr Danon CEO at Hailo Technologies. Hailo has developed a breakthrough deep learning microprocessor based on a novel architecture which enables edge devices to run sophisticated deep learning applications that could previously run only on the cloud. Orr has a decade of software and engineering experience from the Israel Defense Forces’ elite intelligence unit. Orr coordinated many of the unit’s largest and most complex interdisciplinary projects, ultimately earning the Israel Defense Award granted by Israel’s president, and the Creative Thinking Award, bestowed by the head of Israel’s military intelligence. Orr holds an M.Sc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tel Aviv University and a B.Sc in Physics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In more than thirty years in sales, Cactus has developed an acute sense of how price affects the commercial transaction (and how we get it wrong). He has a graduate degree in business analytics from NYU, and lives with his family in Salt Lake City, Utah.
