Don's BIO: Donald F. Kettl is a professor at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a nonresident senior fellow at the Volcker Alliance and the Brookings Institution.

Kettl is the author or editor of numerous books, including Can Governments Earn Our Trust? (2017); Little Bites of Big Data for Public Policy (2017); The Politics of the Administrative Process (7th edition, 2017). Three of his books have received national best-book awards. The Transformation of Governance (2002); and System under Stress: Homeland Security and American Politics (2005) and Escaping Jurassic Government: How to Recover America’s Lost Commitment to Competence.

He has received three-lifetime achievement awards: the American Political Science Association’s John Gaus Award, the Warner W. Stockberger Achievement Award of the International Public Management Association, and the Donald C. Stone Award of the American Society for Public Administration, for significant contributions to the field of intergovernmental relations.

Kettl holds a Ph.D. in political science from Yale University. Before his appointment at the University of Maryland, he taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a fellow of Phi Beta Kappa and the National Academy of Public Administration.

He has appeared frequently in national and international media, including National Public Radio, the Fox News Channel, Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” and “The Situation Room,” the Huffington Post, as well as public television’s News Hour and the BBC.

Kettl is a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers, along with his wife, Sue.

Besa's BIO: Dr. Besa Bauta is the Chief Data Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for MercyFirst, a social service organization providing health and mental health services to children and adolescents in New York City. She oversees the Research, Evaluation, Analytics, and Compliance for Health (REACH) division, including data governance and security measures, analytics, risk mitigation, and policy initiatives. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU and previously worked as a Research Director for a USAID project in Afghanistan and as the Senior Director of Research and Evaluation at the Center for Evidence-Based Implementation and Research (CEBIR). She holds a Ph.D. in implementation science with a focus on health services, an MPH in Global Health, and an MSW. Prior to joining Ford, he was Chief Data, Insight & Analytics Officer at Dun & Bradstreet. In this capacity, he was responsible for the company’s global data and analytic activities along with the company’s strategic consulting practice. Previously, Ballew served as Nationwide’s senior vice president for Customer Insight and Analytics. He directed customer analytics, market research, and information and data management functions, and supported the company’s marketing strategy. His responsibilities included the development of Nationwide’s customer analytics, data operations, and strategy. Ballew joined Nationwide in November 2007 and established the company’s Customer Insights and Analytics capabilities.

Ballew sits on the boards of Neustar, Inc. and Hyatt Hotels Corporation. He was born in 1964 and has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Economics from the University of Detroit.

Here's Scott Zoldi's Bio: Scott Zoldi is Chief Analytics Officer at FICO, responsible for the analytic development of FICO’s product and technology solutions, including the FICO™ Falcon® Fraud Manager product, which protects about two-thirds of the world’s payment card transactions from fraud. While at FICO, Scott has been responsible for authoring 72 analytic patents, 36 patents granted, and 36 in process. Scott is actively involved in developing new analytic products and Big Data analytics applications, many of which leverage new streaming artificial intelligence innovations such as adaptive analytics, collaborative profiling, and self-learning models. Scott is most recently focused on the applications of streaming self-learning analytics for real-time detection of Cyber Security attacks and Money Laundering. Scott serves on two boards of directors, including Software San Diego and Cyber Center of Excellence. Scott received his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Duke University.

The team is highly skilled in solving a wide range of business challenges with unique, basic, and advanced analytic applications.

Nipa joined Dun & Bradstreet in 2000 and since then has held key leadership roles focused on driving the success of Dun & Bradstreet’s Analytics practice. In 2012, Nipa was named Leader, Analytic Development, and in March 2015, Nipa was named Chief Analytics Officer and appointed to Dun & Bradstreet’s executive team.

Nipa began her professional career as an Economist with the New York State Legislative Tax Study Commission. She then joined Sandia National Laboratories, a national defense laboratory where she built a Microsimulation Model of the U.S. Economy. Prior to joining Dun & Bradstreet, Nipa was a database marketing statistician for AT&T with responsibility for building predictive marketing models.

Nipa received her Ph. D. in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany, specializing in Econometrics.
