It's a fruitless obligation that has controlled humans for far too long. Luckily, the Innovation Hacking Team found a solution: automation.

We trained an AI (GPT) on comment threads from the social media platforms with the worst discussion culture: Twitter and Reddit. Using this AI, we can now take the human entirely out of the loop and have an authentic, endless, AI-generated online discussion. Finally, humans can return to higher duties such as learning about the latest big data trends, while resting assured that the important topics of today's society are still being discussed in an authentic internet style. The discussion is brought back to the physical world by a group of talking robot heads that take turns presenting their arguments. For those preferring written discussion, the discussion is simultaneously carried out in a Telegram-esque group chat.

Session Name: Build a Modern Data Platform on AWS Speaker: Artsiom Yudovin Session Description: Chatbots are becoming increasingly popular for interacting with users, providing information, entertainment, and assistance. However, building chatbots that can handle diverse and complex user queries is still a challenging task. One of the main difficulties is finding relevant and reliable information from large and noisy data sources.

In this talk, I will present some of the latest advances in retrieval-augmented generation(RAG) techniques, which combine the strengths of both retrieval-based and generative approaches for chatbot development. Retrieval-based methods can leverage existing text documents to provide informative and coherent responses, while generative methods can produce novel and engaging conversations personalized to the user.

I will cover the following topics: 1. Hybrid search with vector databases: How to use both keyword-based and semantic-based search methods to retrieve relevant documents from large-scale vector databases. 2. Query generation using LLMs: How to use large language models to generate natural and effective queries for document retrieval, based on the user input and the dialogue history. 3. Automatically excluding irrelevant search results: How to use various filtering and ranking techniques based on vector distance to exclude irrelevant search results. 4. Re-ranking: How to dynamically re-rank retrieved documents to further improve context relevance. 5. Chunking Techniques: How to use text segmentation and summarization methods to chunk long documents into shorter and more relevant passages.

I will demonstrate the effectiveness of these advanced techniques in the RAG workflow. I will also discuss the challenges and limitations of these techniques and the future directions for research and development.

Building Proof of Concepts has become incredibly easy. Evaluation is much more challenging. As a result, the evaluation step is often neglected, leading to pointless iterations and a lack of knowledge on the true performance of the product. This is one of the main obstacles to moving into production, especially in circumstances where we need high accuracy of the results.

In this talk, we will explore the lessons learned from building products that are typical use cases of these technologies, such as financial document analysis automation and a RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) tool for the drug documentation of a medical company.

We will mostly focus on the essential steps of the development workflow that are often overlooked: dataset collection, evaluation, and monitoring. New tools such as langsmith for monitoring or promptfoo for manual/automatic evaluation have been released to ease the implementation of these best practices in the context of LLMs. 🚀 About Big Data and RPA 2024 🚀

Session Name: Open Source Entity Resolution - Needs and Challenges Speaker: Sonal Goyal Session Description: Real world data contains multiple records belonging to the same customer. These records can be in single or multiple systems and they have variations across fields, which makes it hard to combine them together, especially with growing data volumes. This hurts customer analytics - establishing lifetime value, loyalty programs, or marketing channels is impossible when the base data is not linked. No AI algorithm for segmentation can produce the right results when there are multiple copies of the same customer lurking in the data. No warehouse can live up to its promise if the dimension tables have duplicates.

With a modern data stack and DataOps, we have established patterns for E and L in ELT for building data warehouses, datalakes and deltalakes. However, the T - getting data ready for analytics still needs a lot of effort. Modern tools like dbt are actively and successfully addressing this. What is also needed is a quick and scalable way to resolve entities to build the single source of truth of core business entities post Extraction and pre or post Loading.

This session would cover the problem of Entity Resolution, its practical applications and challenges in building an entity resolution system. Spring AI was born from the realization that using Generative AI is primarily an integration problem that boils down to integrating your enterprise data and APIs with the AI models.

In this talk, the Spring AI project lead will introduce you to the essential GenAI concepts and provide a hands-on guide to kick-start your AI application development journey. Spring AI offers a comprehensive suite of components required for building an AI software stack, upholding Spring's renowned design principles, such as portability and modular design.

This session will introduce many Spring AI features, starting with a portable client API to interact with AI models. You will learn how to create effective AI prompts, convert AI responses into POJOs, and use function calling to integrate your existing APIs with the AI model.
